PVC tiles as flooring behind window fronts -

A challenge?

Large window fronts are usually found in furniture stores, car dealerships, but also in winter gardens.

For larger window fronts, we recommend gluing the PVC tiles. THIS WAY YOU ARE ON THE SAFE SIDE.

If you still decide to lay the tiles floating , it is important to leave a sufficiently large expansion gap to the wall to allow the material to expand and avoid ripples.

The high level of sunlight from large window fronts can put more stress on the flooring, causing more expansion in the summer and shrinkage in the winter. It is also important to make sure that the expansion joints are not sealed with silicone, as this can restrict the movement of the PVC tiles .

Adhesive: If you choose to adhere the PVC tiles, USE an appropriate adhesive for the type of PVC tile and substrate. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for preparing the substrate and applying the adhesive. Apply the adhesive evenly to the substrate and press the tiles firmly into place.

Bonding: If you are unsure how to properly bond the tiles, we recommend calling in a professional. An experienced craftsman can help you support the subfloor, apply the adhesive properly, and bond the tiles evenly and without gaps. This will not only create a visually appealing result, but also increase the durability and life of the PVC floor.
